Non Ferrous Metal
Non Ferrous Metal
Non-Ferrous Metals
These metals contain no significant amount of iron (typically less than 1%).
Properties: They are usually lighter, more malleable, and have higher electrical conductivity than ferrous metals. They are non-magnetic.
Corrosion: They are naturally resistant to rust and corrosion, as they do not contain iron to form iron oxide.
Examples:
Aluminum: Lightweight and used extensively in aerospace and food packaging.
Copper: Highly conductive; used for electrical wiring and plumbing.
Brass & Bronze: Copper-based alloys used for ornaments, gears, and marine hardware.
